Anyone who wants a document created under their name must attend the consultation.
Sage Hill Law believes in up front pricing. Full pricing details for each document type can be found here.

Your documents are stored in Sage Hill Law’s secure cloud based legal software system. If you’re working with us virtually you will receive a digital copy of your documents through our secure client portal which you can download and save to maintain in your own files. If you are working with us in-person you will receive a physical copy of your documents after they have been signed.
For the majority of Sage Hill Law’s clients, documents can be ready in a little as three business days after completing your initial consultation, depending on your availability to review your documents. If your particular file is more complex it may require additional time to finalize. If you have an urgent situation, such as terminal illness, we can expedite the process to have your documents ready as soon as possible (Please note: an additional rush charge will apply).
Full pricing details for each document type can be found here. These prices includes consultation, document creation, review and signature with a Lawyer. We offer package pricing with discounted rates to add a power of attorney and/or a representation agreement to client’s estate planning documents.

In BC, the Vital Statistics Agency maintains the wills registry. We will complete a wills notice on your behalf to register the location of your Will. The price of filing is included in the cost of our services as outlined here. The wills notice contains your full legal name, date of birth, the date you signed your will, the location of your will and the date we filed the wills notice with Vital Statistics. Registering your will is important because after you have passed, your executor may need to probate your will as part of settling your estate. For more information please visit the wills registry website here.
Our digital wills are remotely signed and witnessed by our lawyer and legal assistant via videoconference.
Our six steps to success
Schedule a free remote consultation online at a time that works for you.
Meet with a lawyer via phone or videoconference to discuss your situation and obtain legal advice. Couples planning together can join from different locations.
Choose your estate planning documents, pay your fees and sign a retainer agreement remotely. Fees are kept in trust until all work on your file has been completed.
Confirm your identity remotely via our contactless ID confirmation process.
Using our secure client portal, review your draft documents, provide any required edits then book a remote signing appointment online that works for you.
Meet with a lawyer and legal assistant via videoconference to sign your estate planning documents.
Sage Hill Law’s remote process combines the convenience of preparing your will from the comfort of your home while ensuring your wishes and needs are met. Our lawyer will draft your documents after meeting with you remotely to take your instructions and advise you. Your documents can then be signed and witnessed via videoconference with our lawyer and legal assistant or you may have your Will witnessed by two independent people of your choice.
Existing online will forms offer no consultation with a lawyer and no legal advice. They are simply online versions of a fillable template. Our process provides you with the support of a lawyer to create the same quality of documents you would get in a traditional lawyer’s office without having to make the trip.
Sage Hill Law uses the Land Title and Authority’s Digital Identity Verification service to verify your identity. All you need is a smartphone and your government issued photo ID.
Your will is legally binding when signed electronically. If you choose to also have a power of attorney and/or representation agreement, these documents can be witnessed remotely and mailed to you following your appointment or witnessed in-person. A will, power of attorney and representation agreement witnessed remotely with a lawyer will create legally binding documents.
Yes, documents can be mailed for an additional fee.
Sage Hill Law uses a secure client portal to share documents with our clients. You will receive access to our client portal once your documents are ready for your review. Will documents are signed electronically and you will receive the final copy with signatures. Power of Attorney and Representation Agreements are remotely witnessed, physical documents which Sage Hill Law will mail to you following signature witnessing.
